Password Generator
Six generators for the small things that need to be truly random.
Make strong passwords and memorable passphrases, pick a fair winner, roll dice or turn a link into a QR code. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing you generate leaves your device.
Live sample. A new one appears every few seconds.

Questions
How is strength measured?
In bits of entropy: each extra bit doubles the number of guesses needed. Crack times assume a fast offline attack making 10 billion guesses per second, so real-world attacks are usually much slower.
Should I use a password or a passphrase?
Both are strong at the right length. Passphrases are easier to remember and type, so they suit things you enter by hand, like a computer login or your password manager. Random passwords pack more strength into fewer characters, which suits everything your password manager fills in for you.
Is the name picker really fair?
Yes. Every name has exactly the same chance. The list is shuffled with an unbiased method driven by cryptographic randomness, so there are no favourites.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. The code holds your text directly, so it keeps working forever and doesn't depend on this site.
